It’s been a while and I’ve been extremely busy! I wanted to give an update on all that one of my represented artists has been up to! First, let me reintroduce you to John Romi!

John is a Swedish-American visual artist and the founder of Cuneiformism. Romi’s art introduces a new visual language through the extensive study of the Ancient Mesopotamian language, Cuneiform. Utilizing the many characters against bold geometric backgrounds, he creates his acrylic and mixed media paintings.

What truly sets Romi’s art apart is his masterful utilization of bold geometric backgrounds, vibrant with color. This distinctive approach breathes new life into ancient symbols, creating a visual narrative that is both timeless and contemporary. His acrylic and mixed media paintings captivate the viewer, evoking a sense of awe and inviting profound contemplation. Each stroke of Romi’s brush breathes new life into ancient symbols, transforming them into powerful visual narratives.

John has been busy expanding on Cuneiform with some new pieces:

“When the Heavens Above” – Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas, 30 x 48, 2023

This piece is inspired by the Mesopotamian Epic of Creation, merged with the concept from Genesis 1. The artwork features seven squares, representing the seven original tablets where the epic was written, with each square representing one hundred lines of text.

“To the Stars” – Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas, 48 x 36, 2023

This captivating piece showcases a striking composition with a focus on the connection between the earth and the celestial realm. The artwork aims to symbolize the human desire to reach for the stars and explore the mysteries of the universe.

Recently, John’s work has been showcased across the United States. Below is Mountains on display at Blue Line Arts Gallery, CA.
